It’s time for week eight of my feature post and Reason #8 out of 10 why you’ll fall in love with Australia.
And after trawling through all my photos from my travels it’s come to my attention that there are so many shots that I haven’t shared and of course, behind every photograph there’s a story so, I’ve decided to share one a week and create a little collection that’ll show you exactly; 10 reasons you’ll fall in love with Australia. Enjoy!
It’s the home of The Daintree Rainforest
Yep that’s right, Australia has a rainforest. The Daintree Rainforest is a tropical rainforest and is situated up on the East Coast right up the top, not far from Cairns and Port Douglas. I visited the Daintree on a day trip, accessing it through a small, lively Aboriginal town called Kuranda which has some awesome cafe’s and shops and the walls around the town are covered in Aboriginal art. We caught the Sky Rail which is a cable car that carries you across the top of the rainforest and has various stop offs in little villages or information points with board walks. The board walk tours were really interesting and described how the rainforest adapts to surviving and thriving which creates the shapes and formations that the beautiful plants had developed – I friggin’ love Mother Nature, it’s amazing! I found it really refreshing to see some lush, green landscape after spending most my time in the ocean, you can spend a few days exploring in the rainforest and even spend a night there but I was running on a bit of a schedule whilst my parents visited! It’s definitely a place I want to re-visit when I’m back in Oz and spend a little more time.
